My story

Meet Pluto: A True Survivor Looking for His Hero!  Pluto is nothing short of a miracle. After everything he’s been through, this resilient boy still believes in love—still wags his tail, still looks up at you with hope in his soulful hazel eyes. He’s a warrior, a survivor, and most of all, a dog who deserves a second chance at happiness. Pluto’s journey hasn’t been easy whatsoever. Pluto was bleeding by the side of a highway after a brutal hit-and-run, left to die. But fate had other plans. Thanks to a Good Samaritan and the dedicated team at a Georgia shelter, Pluto got his second chance. His injuries were severe—a broken jaw, shattered pelvis, and a damaged tail that had to be amputated—but his spirit never wavered. Even with his jaw wired shut and his body left weak and injured, he fought to survive. And he did. Now, after months of healing, Pluto is ready to find a forever home where he can live safe, loved, and cherished. What Pluto Needs: A quiet, patient home with someone who understands that he’s been through a lot. A backyard to run and play in—his favorite thing to do now that he’s pain-free! A family who will give him time to trust and open up. He’s a little wary of new people, but with patience (and treats!), he warms up quickly. A home without large male dogs, as they can make him nervous. He does great with small dogs and loves to play! Someone who will embrace his quirks, celebrate his resilience, and be the hero he’s been waiting for. What Pluto Gives in Return: Unwavering loyalty—once he loves you, he’s all in. Endless snuggles and affection—he’s happiest by your side. The cutest playtime antics—he adores his toys and will keep you entertained. Great manners—he’s potty trained, crate trained, and loves his walks. A heart full of love, waiting to be shared. Pluto has already proven he’s a fighter. Now, he just needs someone to fight for him. Could that be you? If you’re ready to be Pluto’s hero, click "apply" to setup a meet and greet with him. Let’s give this sweet boy the happy ending he so desperately deserves! The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##1806181##
