MATTY*

My story

Matty is a big old blockheaded beefcake who came to the shelter after a run in with a cactus. We didn’t see the other guy, but poor Matty was pretty beat up! He’s all better now and would love to find a home and family of his own.During a short stay in a foster home Matty loved playing tug o’ war and was described as sweet, friendly and mellow. He needs a bit of help from his future family to perfect all of his good boy skills! Here’s what Matty’s staff and volunteer friends have said:“I met Matty for the first time today and he`s super sweet! He was easy to leash up- a little bit of a puller on leash but takes direction well. I brought him into the foster office to hang out for a bit and he was happy to walk around and meet everyone. He is extremely treat motivated.”“Matty is a sweetheart. He did well with his kennelmate in the yard, but mostly just wanted was to relax and cuddle.”“I took Matty out for a walk today. He was eager to leave his kennel; he was a perfect, loose leash walker around the lake and was very curious about the lizards/birds he could hear rustling around in the bushes. After a lap around the lake, we went into the play yard for a bit. He LOVED leaning into my legs for some snuggles. He is very treat motivated and took the treats gently.”“Matty is so endearing with his head tilt. He was friendly and affectionate with me in the play yard, enjoyed treats, and enjoyed being petted.”Matty is also a day trip favorite:“With the most perfect head tilt, Matty is your guy to explore and play with. He rides so well in the car and absolutely loves everyone he meets. He looks strong but is a really good walker.”Matty has been easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup.
