My story

“It`s raining pups! Hallelujah! It`s raining pups! Amen! It`s raining pups…”Is that how the song goes? Maybe not, but we think our version is better and Rayne is definitely a pup worthy of a “hallelujah!” Rayne’s volunteer friends sure sing her praises- here’s what one of them had to say:“Rayne is the cutest little pocket pittie. She was easy to leash up and did not pull on our walk. She takes treats nicely and is a very sweet little girl.”Another volunteer took Rayne home for a pawjama party:“If you’re looking for a dog who is small in stature and big in personality, this is the dog for you. She was tolerant of a car ride after a little coaxing to get into the car. She is easy to leash, easy to walk, and food motivated. She seems housebroken and is very well mannered. She slept on the dog bed through the night. She loves to lie in the sun and belly rubs are her favorite. We gave her a bath and she was very agreeable to have the attention. Not a Velcro dog; she gives you your space and watches quietly from a distance. She was very friendly when meeting a neighbor but did not encounter any kids or dogs. Loves a few throws of the tennis ball and really enjoyed walking and sniffing and relaxing in a quiet home.”Rayne spent about two weeks in another home where she was housebroken and was described as an affectionate couch potato and a very loving girl. When meeting other dogs in playgroup at the shelter Rayne has been social, respectful, and easygoing. She’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good match.
