My story

Meet Jay! A sweet and friendly cat with a heart full of purrs! Jay absolutely loves being pet-she'll happily walk in circles, purring up a storm, just to show her joy. She's also quite the conversationalist, talking to you with her adorable meows, especially when she wants attention! Whether she's snuggled next to you or keeping busy, her happiness is contagious. If you're looking for a loving and lively companion, Jay could be your perfect match! My foster writes: Jay is a sweet, shy cat who deserves lots of love. She is very anxious at first but warms up very quickly. It took less than a day for her to come out to sit with her foster and she purrs all the time now. Jay never scratches or bites and just wants lots of pets.My other foster writes: Meet Jay! Also responds to Jellybean. Our sweet little cat, gentle and docile with us but has kitten energy when offered toys. She's also a good lap cat but takes some time to get there. She'll keep you company no matter what you're doing. She is as adorable as it can get, very adjusting and a great pet!A volunteer writes:Jay is an adorable pixie dressed in a tiger suit who loves to handle everything from the heights of her kuranda bed. She is quite shy, you see but she is really very anxious to meet and greet her visitors, get petted and treated and may be even come on the lap or in the arms. Jay keeps a good watch on her premises and often calls for attention when someone approaches her kennel. She is hard to resist and a must to meet  as she is soo cute. Jay came to us with a bunch of friends as their owner was taken into care. Most of them are in need of TLC but they are so endearing, that adopting them, caring for them and loving them would be a blessing not only for  the kitties but for oneself. Sweet and timid Jay dreams to be home again, this time with her forever family. Come and meet her very soon at the Manhattan Care Center. Please check here for updated adoption hours.I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!I have lived with cats. What my friends at ACC say about me:Jay is a friendly, lively cat that appreciates attention and tolerates petting, but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Primary Color: Smoke Calico Weight: 6.8 Age: 9yrs 10mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jay, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
