My story

Meet Lennie! (Also lovingly known as Leonard, Sweet Boy, Wild Man, and Goofball!) Lennie is an almost 2-year-old, 50-pound bundle of energy and joy. With his oversized tongue and even bigger personality, this goofy guy is sure to steal your heart—and maybe your snacks! His absolute favorite treats? Peanut butter and ice cubes. Lennie is super food-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. Lennie is full of life and loves to play, especially if you’re involved—just don’t expect him to give the ball back easily! He’s the type of pup who could turn playtime into an all-day event if you let him, so his toys and bones are best kept out of sight until it’s game time. He’s known to be a toy destroyer (yes, even the tough ones!) and has also put a few blankets and comforters in the doggy damage hall of fame. This sweet boy thrives with regular walks and zoomies, even managing them in small spaces! But ideally, Lennie would love a home with a large, fenced-in yard where he can burn off his energy safely. You’ll know he’s finally winding down when that giant tongue starts hanging out of his mouth like a flag of surrender. Despite his wild-child moments, Lennie is also a total lovebug. He adores attention and will happily curl up next to you for snuggles once he’s tuckered out. He sleeps soundly in his crate at night and is crate trained, house trained, and knows “place.” He’s a creature of routine and thrives with structure. Lennie is friendly with new people but prefers meeting them in smaller groups and in the comfort of his own home. Big crowds and car rides aren’t really his thing. He does well with other dogs, is polite on walks, and has even gotten good marks from the dog park and a weekend boarding stay! We think Lennie would thrive with an experienced adopter who understands high-energy dogs and can provide consistency, patience, and lots of love. He’s ready for a forever family that will make him the center of their world—and he’ll happily return the favor with laughs, loyalty, and endless affection.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lennie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
