My story

Meet Fall Breeze, a joyful and spirited female pup who was found walking on the sidewalk by an animal protection officer on August 21st. True to her name, Fall Breeze brings a refreshing burst of energy and happiness wherever she goes! This sweet girl is always eager to greet her friends with a wagging tail and adorable toe-tapping excitement. She loves attention and can be a bit playful on the leash, often getting the zoomies, but it's all in good fun. She's housebroken, knows basic commands like "sit" and "come," and sits patiently for treats, showing off her smarts and friendly nature. While Fall Breeze is a cuddle bug who adores people, she can be a little forward when meeting other dogs so slow introductions to other dogs would help her feel more comfortable. In the yard, Fall Breeze is a delight, engaging in play and soaking up attention. She's food-motivated and takes treats gently, making her a quick learner. Though she shows interest in toys, she isn't possessive and is just as happy leaning in for pets. She was very forward during her greeting; she was stiff, ears erect, tail high, and hackles raised. She was able to share a couple nice sniffs with the other dog, but they jumped at each other suddenly and they snarled at each other. Neither of them bit or injured each other, but did make a lot of noise. We were able to separate them immediately, and they did not escalate, but Amada Waller remained very fixated on Fall Breeze. Per staff 8/26: Fall Breeze aka F.B, is a joyful and spirited pup who is always excited to see her friends! She greets everyone with a happy wag and adorable toe tippy taps, showing just how thrilled she is for attention. Sometimes she gets the zoomies on her leash and can pull a bit, but it's all in good fun! F.B. is housebroken and loves being out and about. She's super friendly, wiggly, and eager for pets, sitting nicely for treats and showing off her smarts with commands like "sit. This sweet girl is full of love and energy and is ready to bring sunshine and joy to her forever home! Per volunteer 8/23: friendly/cuddly girl! Good on leash. Seems to know "sit and "come and to be house trained. Per staff 8/22: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Fall Breeze was standing at the front of the kennel and was very excited when seeing the handler! She began to wag and do excited toe taps and hopped on the door. She hopped down when the handler opened to leash her and was wiggly but patient for leashing. Exited and returned without issue. LEASH SKILLS: Pulled moderately, gets the zoomies on leash. Housebroken HANDLING: Once in the yard Fall Breeze was friendly with both staff members and was very wiggly and happy. She solicited attention from both of us and sat so nicely by us while getting pets. She was food motivated and took treats gently when offered and showed knowledge of sit. PLAY: Engaged in play TOYS: Interest but no possession Medical Notes: URI 8/29: This dog has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a "doggy cold". They have been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. Intake 8/22: Eyes -clean Ears -clean alil wax Nose -clear Mouth/Teeth/Gums -lil tartar Coat & Skin -clean Urogenital -female intact Gait/Mobility -no lameness Attitude: Bar nice Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted.
