My story

Meet Kalamazoo! Surrendered by his previous owner in September 2024 to Riverside Animal Services, Kalamazoo was terrified of everyone and everything at FFF when he arrived. Sadly, his fear is likely due to mistreatment in his past. We are thankful that Kalamazoo has been living in a loving and patient Foster home for the past 7 months, and he has made positive strides. That said, Kalamazoo is still a very scared little guy, and because of this, a flight risk who must be supervised very carefully. His ideal family would have previous experience with fearful dogs and understand it will take time for Kalamazoo to warm up and feel safe in a new home. Here is the scoop from his Foster Mom: "Kalamazoo has come such a long way. He’s very bonded to my husband. He does well with our other dogs and is just looking for his person(s) to be with. He has become a great little cuddler, sleeps in bed with us, and stays in his spot with no fuss. Kalamazoo now eats in front of us and will take food from our hands! In the past, we couldn't even be in the same room with him, and he would never drink water. Now, he'll jump down and get water on his own when he's thirsty and will explore the house to see where everyone is. Kalamazoo is fully potty-trained and does well on a leash. After what he’s been through he deserves a loving family and to know no one will ever hurt him again. We love him very much and want nothing but the best family for him." Could you be the one to give Kalamazoo the forever home and happy ending he so deeply deserves? To meet sweet Kalamazoo, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org, or drop in between 10 AM and 3 PM any day of the week.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kalamazoo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
