My foster writes: Meet Chico, a charming little 1-year old boy with a heart full of love and a zest for life! This playful cutie adores chin scratches and is always up for a good game with feather teasers, bouncing balls, and springy toys. When he's not in full play mode, Chico enjoys curling up beside you at night or resting his sweet head on your arm while you work.Chico's energetic spirit and need for attention make him an engaging companion who thrives on interactive play and affection. If he feels he's not getting enough playtime, he might meow a bit or nudge you in the night-just his way of saying, "Let's have some fun!" Food motivated and full of personality, Chico is ready to bring joy and warmth into your home. Come meet this delightful boy and see if he's the perfect fit for your family! Please check here for updated adoption hours.I have lived with cats.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.What my friends at ACC say about me:Chico tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.A volunteer writes: Chico isn't entirely sure what to make of the Care Center, but one thing is for certain, this guy really loves to play and is really quite talented. He's had quite a lot of practice, but, like any professional, he's dedicated to improving his craft. I've spent quite a bit of time playing pipe cleaner feather with Chico and it didn't surprise me to learn that our Chico has also been described as being friendly, outgoing, and gentle with other cats as well. While Chico is all about fun and games, he's a little less sure about pets and cuddles at the Care Center. He is very sure, however, about treats and will come racing out of his cubby when snacks are involved. When I went to visit with him, he promptly hopped into his cubby and looked back at me to ask what the plan was. I offered a pipe cleaner feather and immediately got the feeling Chico could've hung out with me all day as long as we were playing.
