PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! VERONIKA was saved by an independent rescuer back in early 2021. She was a tiny kitten. And she was adopted in as a tiny kitten with her sister SERENA. Fast forward to 3 years later, they were returned because her son (who does not live with her) has "slight" allergies and she can't have them anymore. It took us a few months to get them back to feeling happy. Meet VERONIKA, a sweet three-year-old Tuxedo cat from the bustling streets who’s ready to find a new loving home where she can truly blossom. With her striking black and white coat that’s as elegant as a formal suit, VERONIKA carries herself with a quiet grace that will win your heart. While she may be a bit shy at first, don't let that fool you—underneath that initial reserve lies a cat with a heart full of love, just waiting for the right companion to bring it out. VERONIKA has spent some time back on the search for a caring guardian, and she's looking for someone who understands that great things often come to those who are patient. Once she feels comfortable, VERONIKA absolutely adores being petted. Her soft purrs of contentment and gentle nudges for more attention will be your reward for giving her the space she needs to feel safe. She’s like a delicate flower, slowly unfurling her petals to reveal the true beauty within. Despite her quieter nature, VERONIKA has a curious side too. You might catch her perched by a window, watching the world go by, or exploring cozy corners of her home. She enjoys the simple pleasures of life—a warm sunbeam to nap in, a soft bed to curl up on, and the occasional playful romp with a toy. VERONIKA would thrive in a calm, peaceful environment where she can settle in at her own pace. She might do well with another gentle feline friend who can show her the ropes, or she could be perfectly content as the sole queen of her castle. She just needs a patient and loving pet companion who will give her the time to adjust and come out of her shell. VERONIKA is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TUXEDO MIX. She is about 3 years 10 months old. She has lived with cats but needs proper introduction. She has never lived with dogs. She has never been around children. VERONIKA is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview 5. Will be notified of Approved Application 6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED) 7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty 8. Sign Adoption Contract 9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO - ZELLE - PAYPAL or CASH) 10. Take the Kitty Home ********* MAY CONSIDER OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS NEAR CALIFORNIA, BUT BE AWARE THAT WE WILL NOT SHIP. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO PICK UP********** AUGUST 2024: VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to let you meet the kitty. Not PETSMART employees. Volunteers are usually at PetSmart between 9 am to 1 pm for cleaning. The cats currently at PETSMART you are allowed to go visit. A good time to come visit is between 4 pm - 9 pm. The VOLUNTEERS are only there in the evening for 3 hours so please call the PetSmart location, email us or visit the cattery for VISITING HOURS. Most days are different 3 hour shifts. It's based on volunteer availability. ******************* If you call the PETSMART location, please ask them to physically check the cattery door for the current week's VISITING HOURS. ****************** The kitties at a foster/rescue homes, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below. PETSMART in Murrieta, California off Madison Avenue in Hemet, California off Florida Avenue in Palm Desert, California off Monterey Avenue or any PETSMART near you! The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the phone interview and home check have been done.. Gas donations always appreciated! ************* Please no calls to the rescue. No one available to take calls. ************* If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets. Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption. We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient. VERONIKA is ALREADY fully vetted. The adoption fee of $200 covers: Spay FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens.
