My story

We have a transport trip we are personally taking our dogs on leaving from SoCal to PA and all surrounding states. We would love to add Lexy to our trip for the right family! Travel costs will be in addition to her adoption fee to help aleviate the total travel costs in coming all the way to the east coast and back. Meet Lexy. She is a 5.6 lb, 9 month old Yorkie/Maltese mix. She has a little more growth left, but not much as she is very dainty, and small boned. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and had a wonderful exam with our vet whome has cleared her to find a home all her own. She is pad trained, and has no issues using pads in her area. Due to her size; we watch her very closely outdoors due to the wildlife in our area. She has no problem going outside to use the restroom, but again, is always accompanied. Depending on how you would like to continue house training, she will be easy to work with as she is very easy going, and conforms to your expectations easily. She is learning the leash, as it's still very new to her. Her prior owner never walked her and always carried her so leash time was brand new coming to us. She is small enough to carry everywhere so it's not hard if that's what you want to continue doing or just simply enjoy carrying your baby around, but leash time will improve the more experience she gets. Walks will become something she loves, as she loves to be outdoors, and truly enjoys the scenery around her. She is NOT a barker, but is communicative and will let you know when she needs something. She is wonderful with other dogs, big or small. We do however only have her around dogs similar In size to her so she doesn't accidently get hurt as she is very friendly, and wants to play with every animal she meets. She also grew up in a home with cats, so that won't be an issue whatsoever in her next home! She is crate trained; and will happily sleep in a crate at night or if needed throughout the day. She does sleep in a dog bed currently at night in an open/secured play yard we have set up for her which she loves. She is wonderful at the groomers, and was very sweet with all the attention she received during her spa treatment. She rides wonderful in the car too so if you are looking for a lap dog to enjoy traveling with whether by car, or plane she is definitely your girl! Yes, she is young, playful, vibrant, and full of life, but her age is just a number as she truly would mesh beautifully into anyone's world whether you are single, retired, have a family with chidlren, have other animals or simply want to make her the princess of your home. She will happily join your world just the way it is and add more joy, love, and happiness than you ever imagined possible. She is NOT high energy and is very easy to please and keep happy. She loves to play with her toys near by if you need her to entertain herself for any reason during the day. She just wants to be a part of what YOU have going on even if she has to do something else momentarily until you can join her again. Her adoption fee along with its breakdown is on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org under her listing. It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip and registration, time, care, grooming costs, and training since with us. She was in heat at time of her spay, so extra anesthesia time was needed, along with an antibiotic shot that was given to aid in her healing. Those extra costs are calculated in above as well. She had a dental and ear exam and both are in great health so nothing was needed moving forward. She is ready for a new beginning ❤️❤️❤️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lexy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
