My story

Hello! My name is Jake!I came into the Guelph Humane Society in June 2024 very scared and under-socialized. My GHS friends and foster parents have been working very hard to help me learn that the world isn`t so scary. Once I warm up, I will greet you by wiggling my head and shoulders with a big goofy smile. I enjoy playing with my toys, napping on soft blankets as well as exploring outdoors in the yard and on leash in the neighborhood near my foster home. My curious nature is helping me to overcome many of my fears and I am feeling more confident in familiar surroundings every day!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok, no young children given my sensitive nature.OTHER DOGS: No, unfortunately I don`t have much experience with dogs and am not very comfortable with them.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.
