My story

Meet Rick! Rick arrived at HSoP as a stray, along with another dog we decided to call Morty. Unfortunately, Rick and Morty were never claimed by an owner. Now they're each on the hunt for their perfect forever homes! We estimate Rick to be around 6 or 7 years old. He's already neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will leave HSoP with a microchip containing his new owner's information. Rick is a very happy and outgoing dog, he doesn't even have to meet you to feel like he's friends with you! If there's a tennis ball in sight then Rick is secretly hoping to play a game of fetch. He LOVES playing fetch and seems quite proud of himself whenever he brings the ball back and gently sets it on the ground in front of you. He may not be the most athletic breed in the world, but Rick will still require daily exercise to stay happy and healthy in his new home. Rick is a sweet dog who marches to the beat of his own drum. He enjoys human attention and companionship, but sometimes he cares just bit more about the treats in your pocket than being pet. Being some sort of curly mixed breed, Rick is in dire need of a haircut and will require regular trips to the groomer for the rest of his days. We know that Rick gets along well with the small chihuahua mix he arrived at the shelter with. Unfortunately, how he does around cats is still unknown. As with any dog adoptions, Rick will be required to meet any canines in the home at HSoP prior to leaving the shelter. We also offer a seven-day foster period with each adoption to ensure a good fit for everyone! If you would like to meet Rick, we encourage you to visit HSoP between 2:00-5:00pm Monday through Saturday. No appointment needed! Just stop by when you have some time. Rick's adoption fee is $135.
