My story

Patron is 42 in dog years, finely aged like the adult beverage that he’s named after! He’s a super affectionate, wiggly house hippo who spent his whole life in one home before being surrendered to the shelter. He reportedly did well with kids, was crate trained, and was housebroken. His former person described him as a goofy, relaxed guy who enjoys spending time outside. This happy guy has tons of fans at the shelter- here’s what some of them have said:“I adore patron and can’t figure out why someone hasn’t snapped him up. He’s sweet, affectionate, silly and super cute. He has done well with a variety of kennelmates and is just a well- rounded, happy dog who deserves the best home.”“Patron is such a goofy, fun-loving guy! Upon entering the kennel, Patron gave me a very nice `sit` and took treats gently in spite of his overflowing excitement. In the agility yard, Patron had some wiggles to get out! He ran and sniffed around for a while before checking back in with me, almost like he was asking `OK, what next?`. He was enthusiastic about hide and seek! I crouched behind the big blue barrels and waited quietly, and after a few moments he would eagerly come jogging around the corner to say hello and go run around for a bit. He was VERY attentive, and food motivated.Overall, he was a very sweet, very energetic guy! He would do great in a home with an active family who is looking for a very people-oriented dog, and that is ideally willing to work on some training.”“Patron stood calmly for leashing and we had a wonderful walk with minimal pulling. Patron was just happy to be outside- he’s a great walker!”“I take Patron out often and love him so much! He’s always happy, super affectionate, and just a great pup to spend time with!!”Patron shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been playful and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit and is looking for a home without cats or other small pets. Take a shot at happiness- ask to meet Patron today!!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt PATRON, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
