My story

Hello. So you're ready for some fun and adventures, right?My mother was pregnant when she was rescued from a breeder, so I was born here at the refuge. Which thankfully means, I haven't had to overcome trauma or abuse, as many of my other friends here. I am the smallest of my litter. My sister, Eieleen is also posted, as well as my bro Morrie, who just got approved to a home. Waiting for my turn. More siblings to post yet.I can be a funny girl, hope you are up for laughs. I am also a sociable girl. While still young, you'll be happy to know I have about outgrown my "puppy destruction days".At 6 months old, I broke my leg. A vet treated it, so it mended fine. At times though, I do favor it just a bit, but I have full use of it and am quite active. I think if I push too much is when it tires. Being an athlete, guess that comes with the territory. I enjoy fast interactive games and no surprise! playing in the water. Also, playing fetch and snacks/chew sticks.I haven't been around cats, but my rescuer thinks probably best not to try living with them. The squirrels and such around the shelter make us dogs nutty. I'm rather a cute petite mini-lab, having not grown bigger like many of my siblings. I enjoy quieter environments, as boisterous dogs make me a tad insecure. I have retained my puppy dog eyes to melt your heart too. I am quite attached to my mama, Jolie. We like to snuggle and take naps together. Due to this, it is best that we be adopted together. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
