*** Missy is in a foster home. ***Missy #19231: cream/brown/white Snowshoe mix, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/1/21Cats: enjoys a companion Dogs: probably not Children: tweens+ / adultsBACKGROUND: Missy was found fending for herself on the streets of LA and was taken to a local shelter where she was given a late-pregnancy spay. As she was recovering from that, she came down with a respiratory infection and stopped eating; she had already been skinny as her resources went into her pregnancy. It was then that she came to The Rescue House. With TLC and medical care, she has recovered well, and is now hoping to find her special forever person!PERSONALITY: Missy will flourish and be a wonderful and loving companion for the adopter who will give her unconditional love and time to adapt to changes in her life. She needs to feel safe and get established. She first spent her days in foster care hiding and only coming out to eat at night. Now she enjoys exploring and has found all the best perches and windows for birdwatching and afternoon naps in the warm sunshine. Missy favors a quiet environment where she can feel comfortable and will pick a spot close to you so you can give her plenty of neck rubs, back scratches, and pets. She will settle in for naps on your lap and loves to sleep with you on the bed through the night. She has made some discoveries with what toys she likes (the round trackball tower) and what she doesn’t like (wands with bells). Missy is all sweetness! While she is not a blatantly outgoing cat and may never be so, the subtle signs shine brightly when she is connecting with her known people. She is a lovely little companion.COMPATIBILITY: While in foster care she has interacted very well with another cat, so we think Missy would like a welcoming kitty companion to both be her friend and to help her boost her confidence. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs. Younger or boisterous children would not be a good fit. She needs a quieter and routine-structured environment. Missy’s sweet nature is clear, and she just needs a special person to give her the time and love to fully flourish. Will you give her that chance and be rewarded with a loving lap cat?
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Missy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
