My story

Hi, I’m John. I came to the shelter with my siblings over a year ago. They’ve all been adopted, but I’m still here, waiting for my turn.I’ve spent most of my life in a kennel, and it’s taken a toll on me - I’m stressed, underweight, and clearly not meant for this kind of life. But when I get out in the play yard, everything changes. I relax, I lean in for attention, and I show just how much I want to connect.I’ll need some support adjusting to life in a home — including house training — but I’m smart and eager to learn. I’ve done well with other dogs here, so I’d be happy to meet any you have at home. I’m not sure about cats, and I’d probably do best with older kids who understand I might need a little space sometimes.If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal dog who just needs a chance, I hope you’ll come meet me.
