Bodie is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster! Bodie is: Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized - Currently taking medication for anxiety support when home alone More about Bodie: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: He has struggled to settle when home alone, and has done best with free roam for a few hours at a time and with the addition of anxiety medication. Leash walking: He has been sensitive to noises and reactive when he sees other dogs and some people on walks. He will need to keep working on this with positive reinforcement training, and would do best in a quieter, lower traffic. Dog social: He would do best as the only dog in his future home, as has shown some discomfort and resource guarding behaviors with other dogs in his space. Cat social: He is likely not a match for a home with cats Kid friendly: He has done well in interactions with a dog-savvy child, but he can become jumpy when excited and mouthy (play biting) during playtime so is likely not a match for smaller kids. Bodie likes: - His morning zoomies, hopping from couch to couch - Going for peaceful walks in nature preserves - Squeaking pigs/chicken toys! Bodie is a very loving boy who is active and smart! He would thrive in a home where he'll get plenty of outlets for his physical and mental energy to keep him engaged and fulfilled. He has shown some nervousness when meeting new people, and would appreciate an adopter who can give him plenty of time, space, and treats when around new people, especially during decompression periods. Once he becomes familiar with someone after repeated introductions, he becomes comfortable with them. Given his separation anxiety, Bodie would do best with someone who is home more often than not and who can help him work on this over time as he adjusts to his new home. With consistent training and positive praise, and a quieter house/neighborhood, we know he will really thrive! Bodie's adoption fee is $300, and he is ready to meet his best friend for life! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bodie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
