My story

This girl is the full package—sweet, silly, and just a little bit spicy. She weighs around 50 pounds and gets along great with dogs of all sizes. Her best friend is our 100-pound Great Pyrenees, and together they play hard. She can be a bit too enthusiastic for senior pups, so slow intros and supervision are key for our more delicate friends. Cats? Let’s just say she’s “interested.” While she hasn’t shown aggression, her curiosity is intense enough that we don’t give her free access to them. She’s fully house and crate trained and loves her toys—although she occasionally gets confused about what qualifies as one. Leave her unattended too long and she might redecorate your bookshelf, but she’s so lovable it’s hard to stay mad. This girl is a full-body snuggler with zero concept of personal space. She’s a velcro dog through and through. Leash manners? We’re working on it… okay, we should be working on it. Let’s call it a “growth opportunity.” She’s very treat-motivated and loves every human who comes into the home. Out in the yard, though, she’s quick to alert you to passersby or delivery drivers. A six-foot fence is a must for her. She could clear a four-foot fence if the mood struck, so outdoor time should be supervised. She does have a firm meal schedule—no later than 2 p.m.—or she’ll need a middle-of-the-night potty break, and she’s not shy about telling you. If she’s gotta go, you’ll hear about it—she’s a screamer! If you’re looking for a dog with personality, love to give, and a little bit of a wild side, she might be your perfect match. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hooti AH, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
