My story

Poe is a (almost) 5 year old gentle, independent cat who’s looking for a calm, understanding home where she can truly feel safe. She came to us after her owner was hospitalized, and while her past wasn’t easy, she’s shown us she`s capable of trust—with a little patience and space. Poe isn’t the kind of cat who seeks out attention right away. She can be nervous with fast movements and isn’t interested in toys or being picked up. But once she feels comfortable, she does enjoy being petted—ideally starting with a wand toy to help bridge the trust. She has lived with another cat and could do well with a calm feline companion, but she’d also be perfectly content as a solo cat. Poe would thrive in a peaceful, low-traffic home with adults or respectful older teens (17+) who are happy to let her come to them when she’s ready.
