My story

Duchess is a beautiful calico found in Hunts Point near where the dog fighting was occurring. She's had many litters and was finally rescued very pregnant. Due to her age, she was fostered and allowed to have her first litter safely indoors. When visiting the vet for a snap test (negative for FIV and FeLV), it was determined she is about 8 years old. And has the beginning of cataracts. Very dangerous for her to be under anaesthesia at this ripe age. She had her five kittens less than a week after arriving to the foster home. Now mummy Duchie is spayed. Duchess is not friendly with people. She prefers not to be bothered, however, she does enjoy the company of other cats. She especially loves being around kittens. She is very sweet and motherly towards them, cuddling up with them. Mommy Duchie would make a great addition to any home where she can be a spirit cat and live out the rest of her life. Please consider giving her a chance for a happy life. She just needs to eat her breakfast and dinner and have peace and safety in her cat house. Duchess deserves a golden retirement from the rigors of the street where she was probably born and made it this far, which is amazing. Consider giving Duchess a forever home!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Duchess, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
