My story

We have a transport trip on 7/27/24 to NorCal and OR and would love to add her to our trip for the right family ❤️ Meet my sweet Mia 💗 She is a 9 month old shih tzu mix female. (My groomer believes she is a purebred Shihtzu, but we were told she is a mix from her previous owner so we will let you be the judge 🙃. None less she is made of PURE sweetness and filled with an overflowing amount of LOVE, so purebred or not, she is made of all things great in my eyes ☺️ She weighs right under 10 lbs, and being 9 months of age so only has a very small amount of growth left as they are considered full grown by 10 months or so. She is spayed, current o vaccines, microchipped, had a dental exam, and ear exam which both checked out perfectly and are in great health, and had a wonderful exam with our vet who has cleared her to find a home all her own ❤️ She is crate trained, and has no issue sleeping in a crate at night in her bed if that's what you wish. She does LOVE being in bed with you, so if you prefer a bed dog she will happily fill that space. She also will sleep on a dog bed in your room, as another option. So yes, she is pretty easy going in that area!! She is pad trained to pee on a puppy pad, aside from that we are very diligent in taking her outside throughout the day on schedule to ensure she uses the restroom. Her new adopting family will need to be diligent with keeping up with a good potty schedule with her as well moving forward, as she is young and still learning but with patience, guidence, and understanding she will figure it out ❤️ She is doing amazing on the leash, and is really learning to love her walks. She loves to people watch 😂 and will sit down with you and take EVERYTHING in as it passes her by. She gets so excited when ANYONE decides to give her the same attention back and she will wag her tail in excitement knowing they didn't just pass her by without saying hello ☺️ She is very affectionate by nature, and will give you kisses no matter who you are, from the moment she meets you, you are instantly deemed a friend and kisses are part of making it offical 😬 She is a phenomenal traveler, and will sleep on her bed on long road trips if she isn't playing with a toy, or chewing on a favorite bone. She loves the groomer, and makes things way to easy on her, because after all being a princess just comes natural to Mia 💜 She is WONDERFUL with ALL dogs and cats alike. She is literally EVERYONES friend; and Yes, she is AMAZING with men, women, and children alike. She does NOT have a mean bone anywhere in her body, I truly feel in my heart was made extra special for someone looking for that one of a kind friend to fill their heart, and home with 💕 She is not a barker, but will talk when she needs something so always make sure to listen to her when she does decide to use her voice as it always means something 🙃 Her prior owner surrendered her because she admitted getting a puppy was too much work for her. She wanted a lap dog, and while Mia loves being in your lap, she is still a puppy and needs supervision and someone able and willing to give her an environment she can thrive in. Her prior owner was older, and came to the conclusion that an older dog was what she truly needed moving forward so she contacted us here to take her in and find her the home she deserves. Her adoption along with its breakdown is on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org u see her listing. It covers her vetting, time, care, grooming costs, and training since with us. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped ( her registration for her microchip will be covered in her adoption fee,) had a dental and ear exam, was given an antibiotic shot to aid in her healing from her spay, and was thourely examined and cleared by our vet ❤️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
