My story

NEVA**4 YEAR OLD BLACK LAB MIX**61 POUND FEMALE**COURTESY LISTING** -Age 4 (DOB 5/20/2020) , 61 lbs. -Lab mix (possibly lab-pit) -Adopted from Staunton , VA SPCA at 8 weeks old. -Spayed If you are interested in Neva, please go to www.momsva.org and complete an application. From her current owner: -Fully house broken and she doesn't have accidents in the house. She is up to date with her vaccines, etc. Takes Credilio and Interceptor, hemp calming vitamins as needed and trazodone as needed. -Temperament: Excited, happy, wants to love you, initially nervous, takes time to warm up, loves. I noticed the onset of anxiety after losing her house, the cat that she lived with and loved, ex husband leaving the home, moving to a new place with no yard or her previous neighbor dog friends.Neva has 2 or more walks a day but used to be able to run with neighbor dogs daily in her previous home. Not aggressive but nervous with new people, she warms up and then wants to be best friends and kisses you whenever she gets a chance. She loves hugs after warming up. She'll bark at anyone outside the front door. Anxiety with loud noises- scared of thunderstorms- she'll find a tight spot to squeeze into to feel safe and secure. Shows food guarding and guarding me, her owner at times. She barks at young children and seems to be scared/nervous of them. She has never bit anyone but I would exercise caution around children and toddlers as I do not know what she would do if left unsupervised. -She sleeps most of the day. She is not (normally) fed table food. She eats 2x per day, morning and evening and loves treats. -She was crate trained when she was younger, but we do not crate her now. She is very smart, knows certain items and names of people and several commands. She does have a stubborn streak but she responds well to a firm voice followed by the word "now" when you want her to do something. She's easy to train because she's very food-driven. She's completed a training class as a puppy with "Dog Training by Valerie" - Neva likes to play with tennis balls and she loves chicken and peanut butter. -She enjoys being outside. I'm looking for a home that gives her the ability to run freely. And we feel that having a playmate will make her happy. I feel she likes dogs more than people. She grew up with a cat so that would be fine for her. Please contact Raina at rainajstlouis@gmail.com with any questions about Neva. If you think you are a match for Neva, please go to www.momsva.org and complete an application. **COURTESY LISTING**

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Neva, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
