My story

Fin is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most special person in the world, every single time you walk into the room. He’ll greet you with a nonstop tail wag, a wide smile, and warm, eager eyes—but never jumps up. He’s polite, loving, and just so happy to be near you. This mellow sweetheart is an expert cuddler who’s perfectly content wherever you are—your lap, the couch, a cozy patch of floor. He’s calm, affectionate, and thrives on attention: belly rubs, gentle pets, forehead scratches—you name it, he loves it. He’ll lean into your hand and soak it all in. Fin is potty-trained and communicative—he’ll gently whine near you or go stand by the door when he needs to go outside. He LOVES being outdoors—sniffing the breeze, sunbathing, or just exploring the yard. He’s also a big fan of windows and will quietly watch the world go by, tail thumping. Inside, Fin is low-maintenance and well-mannered. He’s friendly with cats, giving them gentle sniffs before minding his own business. He doesn’t try to eat their food or chase them—he’s happy to coexist. Fin enjoys squeaky toys and will happily chase a ball across the room before curling back up at your feet. He knows “sit”, and while he can pull a little on walks, it’s only because he’s excited—he loves to explore and just doesn’t quite know his size. With some gentle redirection, he walks closer and calms down quickly. Don’t be fooled by his age—Fin still has a playful spirit, but he’s also incredibly chill. He has some physical quirks: his back legs wobble slightly when he’s standing still, going potty, or leaning over to eat or drink. He sometimes pants even when resting, and occasionally tries to itch his eyes with his front paws. I'll use a warm washcloth each morning to help keep his eyes clean and comfy. He’s just looking for someone to love him as he is. Fin hasn’t had much of an appetite in new environments but did eat when his food was mixed with a little peanut butter—his favorite treat! With patience, routine, and love, he’ll thrive. This special boy is gentle, soulful, and devoted—the kind of dog who follows you from room to room, always close by but never in the way. He’s not just a pet—he’s a steady presence, a built-in best friend, and a warm-hearted companion ready to fill your home with joy.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
