Minnie

My story

Minnie ended up at the shelter under bad circumstances that had nothing to do with her. She is a sweet and friendly girl who is around 3 years old. She is up to a happy and healthy weight of 57 pounds after coming into the shelter underweight. She is spayed and vaccinated with Distemper, Bordatella, and Rabies. Though Minnie tested heartworm negative when she arrived at the shelter in June 2024, and she's been on a preventative, Minnie tested heartworm positive at her recent vet appointment when she went to get her vaccinations updated. She's showing no symptoms, and is continuing to receive heartworm preventative. Minnie was recently fostered for several weeks, with hopes of being adopted, but the person fostering her couldn't find a way to keep her while they travel for work. They absolutely loved her and got along great together in an apartment set up. She is an absolute sweetheart, who is very patient with being harnessed, and is always so excited to go for a walk. She walks well on a leash and loves being outside. She knows the sit command, and takes treats gently. She has been introduced to eight of our shelter dogs, and they all did great, but she is selective about who she likes, so will need an intro before going into a home with other pets. She notices cats outside, but is easily redirected to continue on her walk. She’s a happy and friendly girl who loves attention, and she’s ready to find a home where she’ll get the love and care she deserves.
