My story

Meet Tuff II, a sweet and gentle older male dog with a heart full of love and a spirit eager to connect. Tuff's journey has been a challenging one; he arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender due to housing issues, showing signs of neglect. Despite his rough past, Tuff's resilience and gentle nature have shone through. He is ready to bring joy and companionship to a family that can provide him with the care and affection he craves. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Tuff II is the perfect candidate to bring warmth and happiness into your home. Tuff is a 13-year-old Shar Pei and yellow lab mix who's fantastic with humans of all ages. He has a calm and affectionate demeanor, making him an excellent companion for families. He is crate trained, house trained, and great on a leash. He adores meeting new people, treats, and soaking up all the pets and attention he can get. A home with a yard or easy access to outdoor spaces would suit him best. Despite his age, Tuff enjoys short, stimulating walks and going to the park, where he garners lots of admiring glances. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s good with other dogs and doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t seem to mind cats being around. He likes to keep to himself and is very calm and quiet. He loves food and naps. He was not treated well by past owners and was terribly neglected. Tuff is mostly deaf and has a hard time seeing out of his left eye. He has weakness in his back legs due to some vertebrae in his lower back that has fused together. He also has had some skin cancer removed from his belly. He has no lasting issues from it, but there is always a chance it could return. He really is a sweet boy and just needs someone with a big heart and a little patience to make sure that the rest of his life is perfect for him. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise.
