Read below to see what Rocco`s foster has to say about this gorgeous boy! `Rocco, a magnificent Anatolian Shepherd with a coat the color of sun-baked wheat, is a dog of impressive stature and even more impressive character. His days are a comfortable rhythm of naps on the cool kitchen tiles, enthusiastic games with Callie, the feisty terrier mix who is his best friend, and vigilant watch over his foster humans`. domain. One of Rocco`s most endearing qualities is his impeccable manners. When nature calls, he doesn`t whine or pace; he`d simply walk to the back door and offer a polite, expectant look. Meal times were equally civilized. Rocco knows that patience is a virtue, and he sits calmly while Callie eats her dinner, only approaching his bowl when given the all-clear. This same gentle nature extended to the cats, who often rubbed against his sturdy legs, and the free-ranging chickens, though you always need to keep a watchful eye during their interactions, just in case Rocco`s protective instincts flared too brightly.Rocco’s protectiveness, a hallmark of his ancient breed, is usually reserved for those outside his immediate circle. Stray animals are met with a deep, rumbling bark that make them think twice about crossing his property line. Yet, when his foster humans’ friends visit, Rocco is a picture of canine hospitality even leaning into their scratches. Strangers, however, were another story; they were met with a dignified aloofness, a quiet assessment that spoke volumes about his watchful nature.Life with Rocco is never dull. His agility is astounding. He can run fast and jump high and his thundering gallop across the yard is a blur of golden fur. He is a smart boy too, quick to master commands like `sit`and `down` and he`d even learned a comical trick called `possum` where he flops onto his side, tongue lolling out, playing dead. `Stay`however, remains an ongoing lesson, a work in progress that often ended with Rocco bounding back for a celebratory head scratch.Biscuits are Rocco`s passion, and he isn`t shy about expressing his desires.
