My story

EverestIn April of 2024, I gave birth to five kittens. I wasn`t planning on having a family, but I was happy to see them all go to loving homes. Moving into an HSHC condo didn`t actually float my boat. I was still trying to wrap my head around giving birth, let alone being in a shelter. I spent the months of June through November feeling unhappy. I slept more than I was awake. But in December `24, my life took a turn for the better as I moved into a foster home. This was a place where I could finally breathe a sigh of relief. My foster person (FP) has been great at letting me settle in at my own pace. I have gotten familiar with the two older cats and senior dog, and I am now free-roaming with everyone at all times except during meals. I have even initiated playtime with the 9-year-old female cat and the 11-month-old male kitten. We all play chase and take turns with toys. Since having free roam of the house, I`ve become more clingy. I follow FP and settle in, usually close but not quite touching. I am still particular about how I`m petted, but slowly becoming more tolerant. Full-body pets are only allowed at meal and play times. Because I have a low tolerance for being touched, I know young children would rub me the wrong way. I routinely sleep in a chair overnight, but I will get on the bed about a foot from FP`s face in the morning if I`m not served breakfast soon enough. When visitors came over, I sat at the door and screamed until I was invited in, and I went around the room to sniff everyone and flop. I am the type of kitty who can get up to a bit of mischief when I don`t get enough playtime or attention. My main interest centers on the fine art of playing. There has yet to be invented a toy that I don`t love! Wand toys are wildly entertaining. I also get a kick out of looking out the window and checking on the neighbors. I am a sociable cat who loves toys and eating, but I have a sassy personality. I will need a family who will understand and respect my boundaries. Though I`d prefer to be an only pet, I can live with other critters if we have a GRADUAL introduction and none insist on being dominant. I am 4 years 9 months old, spayed, terrific at using scratching posts, with excellent litterbox skills and a lovely dilute Calico coat. So give me a call if you`re interested. 4-21-25
