My story

Meet Giselle, a 5-month-old Husky/Golden Retriever mix who weighs about 30 pounds. Named after the charming dancer from Pirates of the Caribbean, Giselle is an adorable and affectionate companion, blending playfulness with a love for snuggles. Giselle is making steady progress with house training and does wonderfully in her crate, making her a joy to have in the home. Her exercise needs are moderate, enjoying activities like running around the house, spending time in the yard, and engaging with her canine pals. She loves playing with toys, fetching, and interacting with other dogs, showcasing her playful side. Though initially timid with new people, Giselle is good with dogs and humans of all ages. With a bit of patience and reassurance, she quickly warms up and reveals her happy and playful nature. Her foster mom describes her as striking a perfect balance between being active and cuddly, making her an ideal companion for various households. Giselle delights in exploring the yard and playing with her toys, but she equally enjoys curling up on the couch for some quiet time. She follows her humans around the house, always eager to be part of the action. Like many Huskies, Giselle is not shy about using her vocal talents, so a home without shared walls would be ideal to accommodate her expressive nature. A fenced yard isn't required but it would be very beneficial for Giselle, allowing her to explore and play safely. Her initial reserve with new faces and places makes her a gentle and cautious explorer, but once she feels secure, her true outgoing personality shines through. Her minimum adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
