My story

When Simone first arrived at the shelter, she was underweight, dirty, and deeply frightened. It took time—more than a month before she felt safe enough to go out for a walk with us. Whatever her life looked like before coming here, it’s clear she hadn’t always known kindness. But little by little, Simone began to trust, and getting to watch that transformation has been something special.With the people she knows and loves, Simone is a completely different dog. She’s playful, bouncy, affectionate, and full of personality. She has the sweetest smile, loves her trusted humans deeply, and has formed strong bonds with the staff who have taken the time to earn her trust.Simone isn’t the kind of dog who falls in love with everyone right away. She can be wary of strangers and will need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. But once you’re in her circle, you’re really in — and the bond you’ll build with her will be worth every bit of patience it takes to get there.Simone is looking for a calm home where she can be the only pet and continue building confidence with someone willing to move at her pace.
