My story

Mazie has spent an entire year waiting for someone to choose HER.Day after day, she watches people walk past her kennel—some stop and smile, some keep walking, but none have said the words she’s been longing to hear: “She’s the one.”She’s 11 now, though you’d never guess it. Her body tries to remain strong, her eyes are still bright, and her spirit is still full of life. Maize greets each new day with hope, with a wagging tail, and with the same wish she’s held onto for all these months: that someone, someday, will choose her.Mazie loves people—adults are her whole world. Give her your quiet company, and she’ll give you every ounce of love her heart holds. And that heart? It’s big. It’s loyal. And it’s been patiently waiting for a forever it hasn’t found yet.She’s not looking for much. She just wants to be your one and only—no other pets, no little ones. Just you and her, and the peaceful kind of love that older dogs give so freely, so fully.Mazie has spent an entire year behind shelter walls. But it’s not too late.
