My story

Hi, I’m Arthur! I’m a 3 year old beagle, and let me be completely honest…I did not have the best experience with people before I came to Hero. My foster family has been really patient with me, and I’m slowly starting to trust again. I still am not so comfortable with hugs and pets, but I do like hanging out with my peeps and knowing they are around. So I need a family who will work with me, be patient, and help me to fully trust and love, and I’ll become your buddy for life. I am told that I’m a very good boy, and I LOVE other dogs and puppies – although those little yappers do make me nervous until I get used to them. I am a hound, so I really need yard with a fence. And not just any fence will do, as I would be up and over a chain link fence pretty darn fast. I’m gentle, sweet and wouldn’t hurt a flea. I’m just looking for a family who can help me continue coming out of my shell and becoming the bestest pup that I know is in here somewhere. Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
