Ope ACCT-A-164455 is a handsome 10-year-old neutered gentleman who came to ACCT as an owner surrender on May 15th due to moving. He has since been in a loving foster home but is now ready to find his furever family! Here is what his foster had to say about him- 8/2- Ope loves other cats and would do best as a grandpa or an uncle to another cat. He loves to clean and play with the resident cats in foster care. He is very playful. He loves a feather wand or a laser pointer. He makes cute snorting noises when playing. Sometimes he will sit on your lap. He loves pillows and laying next to your head. Very sweet cat that would be the perfect addition to your family! 6/10- Ope is a sweet cuddly cat that loves people. He seems to do well with children and adults and so far other cats as well Here is what his owner noted about him- 5/15 - Ope is litter box trained and enjoys catnip! He is scared around strangers and children but is very friendly towards other animals. Medical notes- 8/2 - During Ope's clinic exam for a recheck of bloodwork for possible diabetes and an oral exam, the findings were as follows: Oropharyngeal: Moderate generalized plaque and gingivitis, more severe along the premolars; mild gingival recession; no visible ulcerations, abscess, or draining exudate. The foster reports that Ope has been lip smacking and occasionally dropping food while eating, but he appears to have improved. The oral exam indicates that dental care is recommended (extractions to be determined), which may alleviate the observed behavior. Ope is also overweight but has been losing weight in foster care and needs a continued weight loss plan. CBC and Chemistry: Bloodwork shows no significant findings, with a glucose level of 114, which is within normal limits (wnl). 5/29- During clinic appointment, Ope was tested negative for FIV/FeLV! Foster noted concerns for Ope having not pooped since Friday 05/24 and had not eaten for 3 days. It was to the conclusion that the medication doxycycline and Elura were making Ope nauseous. Foster was informed to stop giving antibiotics. 5/23- Ope came down with an upper respiratory and was started on Doxycycline. 5/15 - During the initial intake exam, Ope was noted to have hyperpigmentation on the lining of his gums. Ope came to ACCT severely matted on his hind end and had shaved dander. Overall, Ope is overweight but is otherwise bright, alert, and responsive. Videos: Ope- https://youtube.com/shorts/LtlQgAnrsqk
