Memphis

My story

Memphis has truly been through the wringer, and he is looking for his perfect adopter. After being dumped with his litter mates and getting no socialization for 6-7 months, spending months at the shelter, and then months of being in foster and failed home trials, he finally found his perfect person. Then life happened and forced him to come back into foster. Memphis is currently living in his foster home with dogs and cats. He loves to play. He does have some resource guarding things, but his foster parents have been working to truly figure out what triggers him and learn how to set him up for success. He’s doing so well with it. Knoxville K9 Academy is also working with Memphis to help with that but also with his fear. He has a hard time meeting new people, so we are working on building his confidence so that he can be the best version of himself for his adopters. We’ve been working on going to public locations and just people watching so that he can see strangers aren’t that scary. He’s making so much progress! The biggest thing you should know about Memphis is that once he trusts you, he gives you more love than you ever thought possible. He loves to snuggle and sleep under the blankets. He’s truly a big baby and would love to find his forever people. Memphis also comes with the ongoing support of Knoxville K9 Academy for anything that might pop up when getting him settled into a new home and family. We do think he will do best in a home that has a fenced in yard where he can run and play without having to be worried about strangers… where he can be carefree and relaxed. We are working on leash manners, but it is a work in progress. If you are interested in meeting Memphis, please fill out an application.
