My story

Balin (mighty warrior) came into rescue after being picked up by animal control with severe damage to his eyes. The rescue provided every possible treatment to save his eyes, but the damage and infection was too extensive. Luckily, he is indeed a strong boy, and this has not taken away his joy or his love of life. His foster parents learned right alongside him what it is like to care for a blind dog. He started with a small world while in treatment, and as he mapped out his surroundings, his world got bigger and bigger. He has other dogs in his foster home that have helped him to navigate. He does best with dogs that are low energy, aka lazy! He listens for them, smells them, and follows their lead.  Foster mom has found many great resources and groups for living with and training blind dogs.February 7, 2025, 12:52 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Balin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
