Meet Honey – Your Sweet & Unique Tortie Girl! Honey is an 12-month-old kitten with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind look. Her tortoiseshell coat is dotted with cute tabby markings, and her sweet face is sure to steal your heart. She’s making incredible progress in her most recent foster home and is very ready to find her perfect forever home. Honey is not shy—she’s actually very curious and loves to be involved in whatever is going on. However, she does have a bit of low self-esteem, which makes her hesitant when faced with new experiences and people. Once she feels safe, she quickly opens up and is eager to explore and interact. She greets her trusted humans with adorable meows and purrs, always asking for a bit of affection. Her favorite pets are chin and ear scratches, and she’s known to roll over for tummy rubs when she’s feeling extra zen. When she’s especially cuddly, she loves snuggling up beside you for a nap. She’s the ultimate companion for anyone looking for a cat who wants to be close but needs a little extra patience and understanding. Honey is a smart, active girl who enjoys playing with wand toys, chasing crinkle balls, and watching the world from her favorite perch by the window. She’s very eager to please and loves a good bit of praise along with her pets, though she’s not overly food-driven. Training with Honey works best with gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement. She’s also got a special connection to her name and will come when you call her! Though Honey is still building her confidence in certain situations, she’s made great strides very quickly. She’ll tolerate being picked up when she’s in purr mode, and while she may mouth gently to communicate when she’s had enough affection, she’s never been aggressive. She does best in an environment where her boundaries are respected, and she’ll thrive with an experienced cat owner who understands cat body language and can support her on her journey of growth, likely not with young kids. Honey has been introduced to other cats in her foster homes, and while she’s been interested, she’s still learning how to interact with her feline friends. It’s still TBD if she would be better off as a solo kitty or if she would do well with a chill, respectful cat buddy. Either way, she’d love to live in a catified home with lots of enrichment to keep her busy and engaged. Honey is ready for a patient, loving adopter who will continue her progress and make her feel truly at home. In the right home, she’ll continue to bloom into the snuggly lap cat she’s meant to be! Are you the right person to provide Honey with the safe, enriching forever home she deserves? Come meet this unique and loving girl today!
