My story

Meet Rowe! đŸŸ Rowe is a 1.5-year-old gray and white pit mix with a sweet soul, a smart brain, and a spunky streak. She's full of personality, curiosity, and a little bit of quirk that will keep you laughing—like the way she hops like a bunny across the yard or uses her paws like hands to bat her toys around! At home, Rowe thrives. Her ideal day starts around 8 or 9 a.m. with a potty break and breakfast (she's a grazer, so she takes her time). From there, she alternates between playing with her toys, zooming around the yard, and taking cozy naps. Evenings are her favorite—snuggled up on the couch after a little crate time to give the cats some space. Rowe is crate trained and house trained, and she knows lots of commands including sit, wait, down, spin, touch, paw, crate, and more. She’s a smart cookie who picks things up quickly, especially if high-value treats are involved (she's becoming more food-motivated over time!). She’s also worked with both group and private trainers to help manage anxiety and improve her social skills. Because the outside world can be overwhelming for her, Rowe does best in calm, low-key environments. She’s not a fan of walks and prefers the comfort of her home and a fenced-in yard to get her energy out. Her anxiety tends to be triggered by unfamiliar dogs, small animals, or loud environments, so she’ll need a patient, understanding adopter who can respect her boundaries and help her feel secure. She’s selective with other dogs and has done best meeting them on neutral ground, especially older dogs who are calm and confident. She doesn’t do well with small dogs or cats and can be unsure around young children due to limited experience. Rowe has occasionally guarded toys or treats, so a home with other pets will need to provide structure and mindful management to help her feel secure and prevent any conflicts. While she needs a bit of extra support and understanding, Rowe has so much love to give and truly wants to be your sidekick. She’s affectionate, loyal, and endlessly entertaining. With the right person—someone who is home often, can provide structure, and has a quiet home with a yard—Rowe will shine as the sweet, silly, loving companion she’s meant to be. Rowe is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and current on flea and heartworm preventatives. She does have a chicken allergy and a sometimes-sensitive tummy, but otherwise she’s a healthy girl. Looking for a best friend who loves to run, snuggle, and keep you laughing? Rowe might just be your perfect match. Rowe has an adoption fee of $200 which would include everything she needs (crate, meds, toys, harness, leashes etc). If you are interested in adopting this pet, please email us at mackenziek0914@gmail.com or shayeloyd2@gmail.com. If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rowe (Courtesy Post), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
