My story

Name: Rook Breed: GSD DOB/Sex: June 14, 2023/M Known Health Issues: - Cryptorchid. Will be corrected at neuter. - Hip Dysplasia. Right hip needs replacing. Currently not symptomatic, and working under the guidance of Dr. John at Caledon Mountain, and Dr. Sherry at SOAR Vet Services. - Elbow Dysplasia. Currently not symptomatic, and working under the guidance of Dr. John at Caledon Mountain, and Dr. Sherry at SOAR Vet Services. Good With: Cats (with training)! Dogs! Working breed experienced kids will be considered on a case by case basis. NO DOG PARKS Rook is a stunning young GSD looking for his forever family. He has some upcoming orthopedic surgeries and I would love to get him settled before he faces them, to minimize stress during recovery. Rook is an adventurer! He LOVES the outdoors, and is always ready to go. Hiking, running, swimming, everyday is fun! He loves to train, is very quick to pick things up, and will play ball forever. Rook has come a long way since arriving in rescue, and is really figuring out who he is. He can be neutral with other dogs, but prefers to do his own thing. He is not looking for a canine buddy, he's all about his human partner. He can successfully live with other dogs, as long as you treat them as individuals. He's there to work and bond with YOU. I would not recommended another male dog close in age. Rook has stranger danger, and doesn't enjoy being handled by those who aren't his person. He has come a long way, and does well at the vet and physio. He is better with women than men. We muzzle where needed. He will take time to bond to his new person, and is best suited to an experienced shepherd owner, who enjoys training and building relationships. Once you are in his circle of trust, he is a giant teddy bear! He is very affectionate, loves cuddles, and will follow you everywhere. Rook is pretty to look at, but was born with a wonky skeleton. Please don't let this disaude you from considering him! He is VERY capable of enjoying everyday and living life to the fullest! We are working with the amazing Dr. John, and Dr. Sherry, and following their guidance for rehab, and surgery. If you are up for the challenge, have a passion for dog training, and a passion to see Rook succeed in life, apply here: https://form.jotform.com/233466598767073 ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded.
