My story

Hi, I’m Hugo—a handsome, gentle pup who`s come a long way from where I started.When I first arrived at the shelter, I was completely feral—scared, unsure, and not ready to trust anyone. But that was then. These days? I’m walking on a leash like a champ, letting new people pet me, and taking treats with a friendly tail wag. I’m still learning the ropes of life in a home, but I’ve made huge progress!I love my crate—it’s my happy place—and I’m always excited for mealtime. I’m not fully housetrained yet, but I’m working on it. I’ve got a playful side too and love spending time with my brothers, Howie and Harley. I haven’t met other dogs or kids yet, but I’m open to new friends with the right introductions.I enjoy being outside and walk well on a leash. I’m curious, cheerful, and definitely the kind of dog who thrives with patience, kindness, and a little routine. And toys? Oh yes—I especially love unstuffing them!If you’re the type who celebrates progress, understands that trust is earned, and wants a loyal companion who’s come through the hard stuff with a loving heart intact—I just might be your guy.Adoption fee: $50Hugo is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee.
