My story

Sleepy, Sweet, Lover Boy If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving companion who’s happiest curled up in your lap, Heston might just be your perfect match. This velcro cat has mastered the art of relaxation. Whether you’re working from home, reading a book, binge-watching your favorite show, or sleeping, Heston will be right there with you — providing warmth, comfort, and plenty of purrs. Heston’s love of human affection makes you feel good hanging out with him. While he occasionally indulges in a playful pounce or two with a feather toy, Heston’s idea of a perfect day involves napping, lounging, and keeping a watchful eye out for birds through the window. You might hear a soft meow when he spots one or when he greets you in the morning. And if you’re taking too long to get out of bed? Expect a gentle (and very adorable) nose nibble as his polite wake-up call. Heston has a history of a back injury and takes a once-daily pain medication to keep him comfortable. Most of the time, he’s perfectly content, jumping up on chairs or beds with ease. However, if his back is bothering him, he’ll give a warning nip to let you know he’s not up for pets just then. Because of this, he’d do best in a calm home where his boundaries will be respected and protected. His foster emphasizes that he is easy to care for. He’s been neutral with older dogs and even tolerated a playful puppy, though he clearly prefers the company of mellow companions. When the puppy would spend a little too much time trying to get to him, Heston would simply remove himself from the situation. We aren’t sure how he does with other cats, but his foster reports that Heston seems to be very open-minded, giving anyone, including animals, a fair chance to show that they’re going to be a respectful friend. His ideal home is one with humans who are around often — he’ll be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your most loyal lap warmer.
