My story

Once upon a time, Mushu was adopted out as a kitten to a family. He was leukemia positive at the time, and they were told about his virus. Nonetheless, about five months later, he was reported missing after not coming home. They were letting him outside. Fast forward a few months later, and we were told about somebody feeding him at a local chicken drive-through. We agreed to take him. He was scanned for a microchip and he was identified with a local Humane Society. We contacted them right away and let them know that we had a cat that was microchipped under their organization. We let them know that we contacted the adopter multiple times with no response. Right away, they said that he was leukemia positive. We took him to our vet and did additional bloodwork and additional testing and he was still positive. Good thing is he is regressive. That means he is not shedding the virus and his body has kept it dormant. We hope he stays that way for a very long time. He’s just a kitten in a big, huge cat body! He wants to play and romp around. Right now he is living with a couple other positives in a foster home. They have full run of a room with all kinds of cat trees and toys. A couch and a TV are also in that room. All that’s great for now! But we are hoping that he can have a whole home and a big family to love him! Do you think that you? To be considered for adoption you must have a single cat household or other positive cats. Dogs are OK. For the right family, we will work on transport! You do not have to live in Ohio. We just want to find him the best home ever! Apply to be considered. https://form.jotform.com/202214857624050

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mushu, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
