My story

Meet Ramona Ramona is a gentle, super sweet soul who’s looking for a special kind of person—someone in it for the long haul. She’s not the kind of cat who will instantly curl up in your lap, but if you’re patient, kind, and consistent, you’ll be amazed at the quiet bond she’ll build with you over time. Ramona absolutely adores other cats and thrives in the company of confident feline friends who can show her the ropes. She’s also able to coexist with friendly, respectful dogs. In fact, she often takes cues from the animals around her, so a calm and cat-savvy companion can make a big difference in helping her adjust. Building trust with Ramona is all about celebrating the small victories—when she eats in front of you, doesn’t dart away as you walk by, or sits nearby to observe. In her foster home, it took nearly a year before she felt safe enough to seek out affection. But once that trust is earned, the connection is incredibly rewarding. Treats and wet food are a great way to win her heart, and while she isn’t a fan of being picked up, she is manageable when handled with care. Her foster parents are happy to share the techniques they use—scruffing and supporting her gently—to help with necessary handling. Ramona is a young adult with plenty of years ahead of her, and while she may not be the most outgoing cat at first, she is absolutely worth the patience. With a calm home, time, and lots of love, Ramona will quietly blossom into a deeply devoted companion.
