My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sarah (fka Caziel) was an owner surrender that was formerly a stray and taken to a high kill shelter in West Texas. She was surrendered due to being adopted from their and owner moving.  She is good with other dogs and older kids, young children and cats are unknown.   She is a high energy girl that would likely be a great running partner.  Her left eye is enlarged due to a deformity but the vet says there are no concerns and she even has some siight with it.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Hi, my name is Sarah! I have been in rescue since March 2024. I am the biggest sweetheart on this planet to the people I love and trust. I love to give kisses and will lick my foster parent’s face and arms until they tell me to stop. When we’re on the couch watching tv, I squeeze my way right in between my foster parents, even if most of the couch is open! However, I’m not the type of girl to do this to everyone who comes over. My foster parents keep me in the bedroom when they have guests over, because I bark and am very unsure of new faces in my space. With time, I come around and love them, but not right away. I like to decide whether or not we’re friends on my own terms. I absolutely love other dogs, but I require slow intros to new friends. My foster parents keep me in my own room for about 24 hours when bringing a new dog in to the home. I want to get used to my new friend on my own time. I would do best with other dogs who are comfortable with me playing rough with them. I am a big strong girl, and I like to body slam my dog friends while I play! It is so much fun to knock them over! I don’t realize how strong I am, and sometimes new dogs get scared when I do it. It would be beneficial for any dogs in my new home to be comfortable with rough and tumble type play. I am fully potty trained and do a great job in my kennel. I am quiet and will sleep in my crate all day while my foster parents are at work. I am trusted so much in my foster home that they leave me out in the bedroom with the door closed so I can sleep in the bed and look out the window. I love sleeping in the bed! I always have to be touching one of my foster parents during the night; I have no sense of personal space! Physical touch is definitely my love language. I am an energetic girl who loves going for walks in quiet areas. I am working on my leash reactiveness and have gotten a lot better, but if a dog is super excited to see me and runs at me, I will pull as hard as I can towards that dog. If the other dog is quiet and walks past, I will do the same. I mimic the body language of the other dogs I see in the neighborhood. I am an absolute dream in the car! I jump right in and lay down for a nap. You will forget I’m there! Just don’t forget to wake me when we get to the coffee shop for my pup cup! I have not been around cats or children for extended periods of time. My left eye has been checked out by a vet twice, and it doesn’t seem to bother me or cause me any pain. However, I likely have decreased vision out of it, because I will turn my head to the right when there is something I want to look at closely. If you’re looking for a loyal girl to be your new best friend, apply for me today! Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2025, 7:26 am
