My story

Suzette is a sweet little mini hippo looking for a new watering hole! This pittypotamus is as cute as they come, and twice as sweet! Suzette spent several weeks in a foster home and we learned so much about her!- She did great with a 13 year old kiddo- She’s a serious foodie and lets you know when it’s time for her to eat - She is well- behaved when left home alone- She was comfortable sleeping in a crate at night- She is housebroken - She is friendly and smart and knows sit, shake, and stay (sometimes)In a second home Suzette was again housebroken, enjoyed car rides, and was described as a big old couch potato. Here’s what volunteers at the shelter have said:“First time meeting Suzette today, and I immediately fell in love with her. She is just the sweetest, gentlest little lady. She was lying on her bed when I entered her kennel but got up and approached me with a friendly face and wagging tail. She has a cute little trot and enjoyed sniffing all along her walk. She took treats gently and let me pet her. I look forward to spending more time with this sweetie!”“Suzette did great this week in our walks. Suzette knows her name well and looked back to me when called. She sat pretty for me and took treats gently. She’s a sweet girl.”Suzette recently returned to the shelter very overweight, so would love to find a home with someone who will take her on a daily walk or two and who will help her trim down her waistline a bit with a healthy diet! Suzette has been independent and appropriate when meeting other dogs in playgroup. If you have a pygmy hippo- sized nook in your house, please ask to meet Suzette today!!
