My story

So, young Maggie wandered into an elementary school in Mexico a few months ago. She was just looking for a little food, but the teachers there called the city kill shelter. Our wonderful rescue partners who run a nearby rescue shelter, heard about the situation and were barely able to rush in and grab Maggie before the “death squad” caught her. She was literally snatched from the jaws of death. Maggie is a true sweetheart in every way. She loves life! She loves people! She loves dogs! Because she is young (maybe about a year or two old), she does like to chew on things. On the other hand, if you give her chew toys, she’s a happy camper. After she runs around a bit, she’s so happy to just snuggle at your feet and hang with you. Maggie has been in foster care with us for a month and just settled beautifully into “life with humans”. Maggie is young and playful and happy, but she’s also a snuggler and soaks up love like a sponge. So Because Maggie is all black (except for some white on her paws), she will probably be one of the last to be adopted – black dogs ALWAYS are. But when people overlook her because of that, they may be missing out on an incredible dog. Maggie’s about 40 pounds, fully vaccinated and spayed. She’s ready to go!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maggie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
