My story

Meet Donnelly! Donnelly was found in Alvarado as a stray with his litter. He did not have much human interaction until he was around 3 months old so he is still working on learning to trust humans. Now at 1 year old he has started to learn that humans can be kind. Though he is scared at first when approached by humans and he will growl a little to let you know, but no aggression. If ignored, he comes right up to you and will sniff and licks your hand then he`s your friend for life and will follow you around. He is more confident when with his fellow dogs. He plays well with other dogs. He`s playful with his toys. He loves to snuggle under blankets. Knows sit and gentle when taking a treat. Still has some leash training to do. He is still timid so the leash has been a struggle for him learning how to walk with it. He`d prefer to walk between your legs where he feels safe in new environments. Overall, he is a sweet dog, plays well, sleeps all night and will snuggle up as long as you desire.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step.
