Meet Missy Lou Who 👉 Bring Her Home Missy is the kind of dog you don’t just meet—you remember. With the most striking eyeliner you’ve ever seen and a heart full of sweetness, she’s the beauty queen of our shelter. But beneath her gorgeous good looks is a soul that’s been patiently waiting far too long for someone to truly see her. Missy came to us with her brother, and while he found a home quickly, she’s been here since April 2022, quietly hoping her turn will come. She's a 3-to-4-year-old Hound and Black Mouth Cur mix, weighing around 40 to 50 pounds, and she radiates joy and warmth from the moment you meet her. Life hasn’t always been kind to Missy. She’s never really known what it feels like to be the center of someone’s world. Because of that, she tends to bond deeply with one person—her person. The one who finally gives her the attention, affection, and stability she’s craved her whole life. Once she trusts you, you’ll see her true colors: affectionate, loyal, a little goofy, and so full of love that you’ll wonder how you ever lived without her. Missy is active and playful—she’ll absolutely help you hit your daily step count and she’ll keep you smiling the whole way. But when the day winds down, she’s just as happy curling up for cuddles, soaking up every bit of the love she spent years waiting for. She gives the best hugs, the gentlest kisses, and has a way of making you feel like the most important person in the world. And that's just it—Missy wants to be the most important part of your world, because she wants to make you the most important part of hers. For that reason, she needs to be the only animal in the home. She’s waited too long to share the spotlight and truly deserves her moment to shine. She would do best with a fenced yard where she can run, explore, and feel safe. After so long in the shelter, she may need a little time to decompress, and she can be protective once she settles into a home. Training and patience will help her feel confident and secure—and you’ll be amazed at the bond that blossoms.
