My story

Poppy is ADOPTABLE!

Poppy is an 8-year-old rescue dog, and she came to us last year. It didn’t take long for her to adjust at the rescue shelter and she's now a happy pup in foster care. Her foster mom told us, “This sweet girl loves to cuddle, and her biggest joy is to be next to her person. As soon as you sit on the couch, she will sprint over to your side. She sleeps at the foot of the bed and the moment she notices you awake she jumps into your arms for morning cuddles.”
Poppy is a gentle pup who is a true foodie and LOVES her treats, so she is very motivated to learn all the tricks her future pawrent wants to teach! She learned to “come” and “sit” with her foster mama within the first few days. She is a quiet girl, but she will be your guard dog and bark at the door when strangers arrive with packages or pizza. Poppy is also great in car rides and jumps for joy when her harness comes out. She is not an extrovert to greet others first but is a calm buddy who ultimately loves everyone. She may take a little longer with men, but she will eventually want to be held and petted by them because that is her favorite activity.   Poppy would be best as the only dog in the household, but calm female doggy friends will be okay. More about Poppy: 📍 Currently in ATLANTA 🐶 8 years old 🦴 Female 💪 19 lbs 👶🏻 Excellent with Kids 🏡 Excellent with People 🐩 Good with female dogs similar to her size 🐱 Untested with cats ● Spayed

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Poppy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
