My story

Emma Pittie Mix Female 1 year old 42 lbs. Meet Emma, a charming pooch full of love and affection! She's an incredibly sweet dog who adores humans of all kinds. Emma is a cuddle enthusiast, always seeking scratches and kisses. She's high-energy, but equally content to spend the day lounging and recharging with naps. Emma's excitement is palpable—she showcases a happy wiggle butt when greeting you and flashes a toothy smile when she's thrilled. Outdoors, she unleashes her playful side with zoomies, but is also a fan of cozy cuddles and scratches. While she hasn't had extensive training, she's proficient on a leash, knows basic commands, and is fully house-trained. Barking is a rare occurrence for her. Emma is very eager to be where you are, but understands when you need your space. Emma has displayed aggression towards other dogs so it is recommended she be the only animal in the house at this time. But her abundant personality and affection mean that having her as the only pet in your home will be incredibly fulfilling – you won't feel the need for another furry companion! Consistent training and guidance are essential to ensure positive behavior. It's crucial to keep her leashed in public areas for now. She's generally great around kids over 8, but her high energy might not be suitable for younger children as she can inadvertently knock them down. She's amiable with new people, but might need guidance with managing her enthusiasm. Emma is a playful soul and would adore chew toys, enjoys chasing balls/frisbees, relishes tug-of-war and adores treat puzzles. Crate trained and potty trained, she readily responds to commands like sit, stay, touch, and place, but consistency is key as she's still learning. She shows enthusiasm for food and is trainable, although she's in the process of learning and could benefit from more practice. While Emma's energy peaks when excited, she's a great companion, matching your energy levels and needing at least two walks a day or some engaging playtime. Emma thrives on attention and training and would suit someone willing to invest time in her training needs. Emma, the loving canine, seeks a supportive family to assist her in blooming and experiencing her best life as an adored pet. She looks forward to relishing walks and hikes, embracing the spirit of a true Colorado dog! Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact our friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. We look forward to meeting you!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Emma, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
