*Indoor only* Grady is a beautiful all-white kitty who has repeatedly been let down by humans. He was sadly left behind when his family moved. He proved elusive and struggled to survive outside for awhile. A nice neighbor managed to bring him inside and brought him to the vet where it showed he had been injured - possibly hit by a car. He is better now with a slight limp. It doesn't stop him from jumping for wand toys or going up his favorite cat tree. He even likes to sprint around and explore! He is a sweet boy, but having to survive outside, he grew to be cautious. He flourished in foster and became a lap cat, but it was time for him to be adopted to who we thought would be perfect. Through absolutely no fault of his own, he was returned when his adopter had medical issues and had to adjust all over again. He bonded with his new foster mama again and was adopted again. Through his next adopter's negligence, he developed a wound and he was cast aside yet again rather than lovingly healed. He did heal and bonded yet again with not one but three foster mamas (he had to be moved due to only wanting gentle - or zero - other cats in his environment), but he definitely wants his next home to be his final, forever home. He is a sweet boy who loves sitting on something and looking out a window. He will come out to explore, even giving a lick to someone he loves, but he will indicate when he needs some space with a little sound. He'll then trot off to a safe space, but most of the time he just wants company - and someone who won't overfeed him. He will need some time to get to know you and he has done some "love bites" to indicate that you've scared him, but these go away and they're replaced by soft, quick licks. When in new surroundings, he may emit a sound like a low growl, especially when it comes to food. This is just a left-over instinct from living outside and once he is comfortable, he stops (a few days). This sweet boy will run to greet you and loves to be pet. He has a very soft, sweet purr. He's also super playful. He can be picked up and held, but this isn't something he loves. He definitely wants to be a lap cat again - if you don't let him down. You have to meet him! Adoption fee has been sponsored, and this includes spay/neuter, FIV and FELV combo tests, up-to-date rabies and distemper vaccinations, deworming, flea treatments, and microchip. If you are interested in adopting, go to shadowcatstnr.org/adopt to fill out an application or email adopt@shadowcatstnr.org for more information.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Grady (FKA Ghost), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
