My story

Hi there! My name is Chance, and I’m a seven-year-old pit mix with the heart of a pup and the wisdom of a seasoned best friend. Life threw me a curveball when my last family had to let me go because of landlord issues, but I’m ready to turn the page and find my forever home. Could that be with you? I’m a laid-back kind of guy who knows how to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. A cozy spot on the couch, a loving pat on the head, and your company are all I need to be content. Don’t get me wrong—I do enjoy some playtime now and then, especially with kids, who I’ve lived with before and adore. I’ve even shared a home with cats and was a complete gentleman about it. When it comes to other dogs, I’m a little more particular. I’ve had good moments meeting dogs outside the home, but I can also be a bit reactive. I think I’d prefer to be your one-and-only or meet potential doggie siblings slowly, with lots of positive reinforcement to help me feel comfortable. Walks with me are a breeze! I’m easy to handle, and while I might occasionally playfully chase a squirrel (hey, who can resist?), I’m generally pretty low-energy. My favorite part of any walk? The treats, of course! I’ve got a solid “sit” and a strong desire to please, so I’d love to keep learning with you. One thing to know about me is that I’m a bit of a toy enthusiast—or maybe “toy destroyer” is a better term. Rope toys are a no-go for me, but give me some heavy-duty chew-proof toys, and I’ll happily entertain myself without any mishaps. At the end of the day, I’m just looking for a calm, loving home where I can relax and be my best self.
